The New Way to Measure COD

MANTECH is pleased to introduce the PeCOD AssayPlus, with AutoMax Automation!

What is PeCOD™?

PeCOD™ technology directly measures photocurrent/charge originating from the oxidisation of the organic contamination contained
in a water sample.

The core of the technology is the PeCOD™ sensor, which consists of a UV-activated nano-particulate TiO₂ (titanium dioxide) photocatalyst coupled to an external circuit. The high electrochemical potential of the TiO₂ gives it a substantial advantage over the modest chemical potential generated by the dichromate method.

Automate up to 71 samples in a single batch

May also be combined with additional parameters such as pH, alkalinity and turbidity for multi-parameter analysis from a single sample, including COD!

There are two PeCOD AssayPlus options available at this time:

Option 1 Chemist mixes sample and electrolyte in a 50mL tube following prescribed recipe for the calibration range being used. For example, yellow range:

Pipet 2mL of sample plus pipet 18mL of electrolyte into the 50mL tubes
Place the prepared samples on the AutoMax sampler rack.
The PeCOD AssayPlus then mixes the sample and analyzes for COD for up to 71 samples per batch.

Option 2 Chemist mixes sample and electrolyte in a 50mL tube following prescribed recipe for the calibration range being used. For example, yellow range:

Chemist pipets required sample volume into 50ml tube then places the sample tube on the AutoMax73 Sampler Rack. The PeCOD AssayPlus will automatically add the required volume of electrolyte to sample, mix with a stirrer and complete the COD analysis for up to 71 samples per batch.
