GX-281 Preparative HPLC System

The GX-281 features a large bed capacity that uses only 35” of linear bench space. The revolutionary GX Prep Solvent System features flow rates of up to 25 mL/min and volumes ranging from μLs to hundreds of mLs. The GX-281 offers numerous injection options ranging from Gilson’s innovative GX Z-Injection Module which aspirates sample directly into the valve to the GX Direct Injection Module which features the largest range of injection volumes available on the market today.

The system’s wide flow rate range (from the 333 and 334 Pumps) allows for both semi-preparative and preparative separations. High pumping power accommodates a wide range of preparative column sizes. All injection modules feature a continuous flow path design. The system can accommodate large injection volumes with minimal sample waste and carryover. The new rinse station system incorporates a flowing jet wash and allows the use of up to two different rinse solvents.

  • GX Z-Injection Module
    The GX Z-Injection module is the industry leading injection technology. Sample is aspirated directly into the injection valve reducing carryover and plugging issues from standard injection ports, decreasing cycle times and reducing sample waste.


  • Automated Column Selection
    Automatic selection of up to 6 different columns allows for purifying a wide range of sample masses and allows for automated use of several different column chemistries without modifying system hardware.


  • Low Mount Fraction Collection
  • Fraction Collection at flow rates up to 200 mL/min.
  • Separate Injection and collection pathways eliminates contamination of fractions from the injection proce
  • GX Prep Solvent System
    The GX Prep Solvent System features volume capabilities ranging from 50 µL to 100s of mLs and flow rates up to 50 mL/min. The solvent valve allows for immediate access of up to 5 off bed solvent reservoirs.


  • GX Direct Injection Module
    The GX Direct Injection Module is compatible with both the GX-271 and GX-281 Liquid Handlers. It features an innovative injection port design that attaches directly to the injection valve reducing void volumes and minimizing carryover associated with calibrated connection tubing. The GX Direct Injection Module offers sample loops sizes ranging from 2 µL to 25 mL providing the largest sample volume range in the market today.
